    Miss Jean Agnes Peacock
    The death occurred in Ramsay on Wednesday morning, June 3rd,, of Miss Jean Agnes Peacock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Peacock, who passed away following an illness of some duration. The young lady had been a great sufferer from arthritis for some time but the end came suddenly and came as a great shock to her many friends. Deceased was born in Lanark township 18 years ago and when but a small child moved with her parents to Ramsay to reside. She was of a bright, cheerful disposition and was dearly beloved by all with whom she came in contact. She was a very popular, kind and sympathetic young lady and was held in the highest esteem and respect by all who had the extreme pleasure of knowing her. Besides her sorrowing parents she is survived by three brothers and five sisters. The sisters are Misses Caroline, Annie, Katie, Lena, Muriel, and the brothers are, Wilbert, Everett and Mervin. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon from her parents residence at 2 o'clock to the Auld Kirk cemetery. Rev. Jas. Foote, of St. Andrew's Presbyterian church, Carleton Place, conducted the services. The sympathy of a host of friends join in extending; deepest sympathy.

    Annie McArthur
    Annie Evelyn McArthur died July 20 in the Almonte General Hospital after being ill for two months. She was 77. The Country street apartment-dweller was born Aug 12, 1914 to the late George Peacock and the late Anne Munro. She was married the late Alex S. McArthur July 11, 1936. She is survived by sons Stuart of Hudson, Que., James of Surry, B.C., Clare of Ottawa, Gordon of Almonte, daughters Anne Lowe of Ottawa, Catherine Ethel Pringle of Ottawa, Mary Warren of Ottawa, Dorothy Woods and Diane Little of Wawa. She is also survived by brothers Wilbert of Carp and Nelson of Armstrong B.C. and sisters Caroline Ethel Donaldson of Almonte, Lena Rhodey of Pakenham and Murial Wark of R.R. 1 Almonte. She was predeceased by son Keith, daughter Linda, brother Everette and sisters Katie Paterson and Jean Peacock. The funeral service was held at the Gamble Funeral Home July 24 at 2 p.m. Carson Wallace and George Poole led the service at the Gamble Funeral Home. Burial was at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edwin McKirdy, Delmer McKirdy, Pet Munro, Harold Hogg, Alex Hazelwood and Bill Munro.

    Mrs Wilbert Paterson
    News of the death of Mrs Wilbert Paterson in the Rosamond Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 28, was received with deep regret. Mrs Paterson was in her 34th year and her death resulted from a cerebral haemorrhage which she suffered two weeks ago. Born in Lanark Township, her maiden name was Catherine Peacock and she was a daughter of George Peacock and his wife, Annie Munro, who now live on the 7th line of Ramsay Township. Mrs Paterson attended the local schools and all her life was spent in this community. On April 9, 1948, she married to Wilbert Paterson, 6th line of Ramsay Township, who survives. Besides her husband she leaves her father and mother, three brothers and four sisters: Wilbert of Carleton Place; Everett and Nelson of Prince George, B.C.; Carrie, Mrs Vernon Donaldson of Lanark; Annie, Mrs Alex McArthur of Ramsay Township; Lena of Welland and Muriel, Mrs Melville Wark of Clayton. Deceased was a member of Bethany United Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday at the family residence, 6th line of Ramsay Township, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

    We regret to announce the passing of Nelson Mervyn Peacock on February 11th, 2008 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Nels was born December 22nd, 1926 in Carleton Place, Ontario. He moved to Prince George in 1947, where he met and married the love of his life, Wilma, who predeceased him in April 2007. They moved to Armstrong in 1975 and retired to Vernon in 1995. Nels is survived by his children, Judy (Ray) Arnoldus, Allan Peacock, Laurie Peacock (Dan Proulx), Bruce Peacock, Gayle (Darrell) Knorr, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his sister, Muriel Wark and his faithful companion, Nikki. The family would like to thank the staff of Coldstream Meadows, the IHA Home Care Nurses and the staff on 3 West for the wonderful care they provided our Dad. In lieu of flowers, those friends wishing to make memorial donations in memory of Nelson Peacock may do so to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
    Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 14th, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m . at Pleasanit Valley Funeral Home.

    Linda Elizabeth McArthur
    The death occurred Monday, February 6th, 1967, at Kingston General Hospital after a short illness of Linda Elizabeth McArthur, beloved daughter of Mr and Mrs Alex McArthur, in her 10th year. She was born at Almonte March 20th, 1957 and attended school at S.S. No 6, Ramsay. Left to mourn her loss are her mother and father, five sisters and five brothers: Anne, Mrs David Lowe of Brockville; Ethel, Mrs Bruce Pringle of Ottawa; Mary, Mrs David Lackey of Oshawa; Dorothy and Diane at home; Stuart, of Hudson, Que; James of Ottawa; Keith, Clare and Gordon at home. The funeral service was held from the Comba Funeral Home, Wednesday, February 8th, at 2.20 p.m. The service was conducted by Mr George Poole. Interment was in Auld Kirk Cemetery. The pallbearers were John Cochran, Alan Giles, Frank Lackey, Carman Munro, Harold Stuart and John Morin.

    Passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the age of 67.

    Beloved husband of Glenna (nee Bradshaw) for over 45 years. Loving father of Duane (Julie) of Moncton, NB, Kevin (Ila) of Selkirk, MB, Heather Snook (Jon) of Baden, ON.

    Will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Drew, Caitlyn, Shayla, Jared, Nolan and Scott. Survived by his siblings George (Rita), Verdun, David, Mary Harmer (Bruce).

    Will be missed by 8 nieces and nephews. Son-in-law of Wilfred and Joyce Locke.

    Brother-in-law of Janice MacDonald (Bryan), Lois Seaborne (Wayne), Ruth Massey (Jim), Tom Bradshaw (Virginia), Myrna Bradshaw and Cathy Wetherelt (Terry).

    Jim will be missed by many friends, neighbours and business associates.
