Peacefully at the Perth Hospital, with her family by her side, on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at the age of 78. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence. Loving mother of Marie and Paul (Sarah). Proud grandmother of Josie. Survived by her sisters Dorothy (Randolph Legree-deceased) and Eileen (Dan Boothby). Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Cora and her special uncle Jim. Predeceased by her sisters Alma (Stewart Malloch) and Delia (Jim Graham-surviving). Blanche will be missed by all her nieces and nephews, friends, and family. Friends may visit the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Ave., Carleton Place, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service Thursday in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Blanche married Joseph Lawrence Desjardins in 1959. Joseph was born on 24 Dec 1920 in Iroquois Falls, Temiskaming District, Ontario, Canada; died on 6 Apr 1987 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in 1987 in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Beckwith Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
