    Edward Moore
    The death occurred at his home of John Street,
    Almonte, of Edward Moore, following a lengthy illness. He
    was in his 91st year.
    Mr Moore was born on the 7th line of Ramsay, son of
    the late William Moore and his wife, Matilda Nicholson. As a
    young man, he moved to Carleton Place where he was
    employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Later he moved
    to Sturgeon Falls to take up farming, and returned to
    Almonte in 1947.
    In 1879 he married Agnes Jane Hastie of Carleton
    Place, who died in 1897. Of this union, there were born two
    sons and two daughters.
    At Crystal Falls, he married Martha Marshall of Almonte
    who survives. Also surviving are two sons, William of
    Florida and David of South Lanacaster, Mass; one
    daughter, Sarah, of Vancouver. One daughter, Mary, (Mrs
    Sidney Lawford) died last July. Also surviving is one
    brother, Donald Moore, of Main St, Almonte.
    The funeral took place on Wednesday from his late
    residence, John Street, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery

    Mrs Mary M. Lawford?/b?
    Final tribute was paid to Mrs Mary Lawford, wife of Sidney
    M. Lawford, at her funeral service on Sunday July 24th. The
    service was conducted by Rev T.R. Hutcheson assisted by
    Professor I.J. Mathews. Burial was made in Auld Kirk
    Cemetery.
    Mrs Lawford was born in Ramsay, daughter of Edward
    Moore and the late Agnes Hastie. She spent her early
    childhood in Carleton Place and Pembroke, moving to
    Almonte when a young girl and completed her high school
    work here, and has resided in Almonte continuously since.
    For a number of years she was associated in business
    with her son, W.E. Lawford, and with her quiet cheerful
    disposition made many friends, A member of the Baptist
    Church, she taught in the Sunday School until recent years.
    Left to mourn her loss are her husband, two sons,
    Wesley E., of Toronto; Clifford, of the Postal Department,
    Ottawa; two daughters, Valda, Department of Transport,
    Ottawa; Edith (Mrs Carns Lever), of Carleton Place, also
    her father, Edward Moore, Almonte; one sister, Sarah of
    Vancouver; two brothers, William, of Rhode Island, and
    David, of New York. Also surviving are four grandchildren.
    The many beautiful floral tributes testified to the love
    and esteem of her many friends.

    Mary married Sydney Morgan Lawford in 1895. Sydney (son of Robert G. Lawford and Sarah Ann Thompson) was born on 2 Jun 1880 in Appleton, Ramsay Township, Lanark County, Canada West; died on 26 Jun 1965 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 29 Jun 1965 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
