Mrs Thos. J. Reid died suddenly at her home, Union Street, Saturday morning. She had been in ill health for over a year but her death came as a shock to her friends because she had been feeling better during the last few weeks. She was in her 77th year. The funeral, which was private, took place on Monday afternoon, the Rev H.C. Wolfraim of Bethany United Church, officiating. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pall-bearers were Messrs P.A. Grieg, W.A. Jamieson, Austin Symington, P.A.E. Young, J.L. Erskine and W.M. Bowland. Mrs Reid was the former Agnes Jane Drummond. She was born in Ramsay Township six miles from Almonte, the daughter of the late Peter Drummond and his wife, Jane Dunlop. She spent her youth in Ramsay where she received her early education in the rural school. Mrs Reid attended Bethany United Church and was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and a life member of the Women's Auxiliary. She married in Almonte in 1903 to Thomas J. Reid, who survives. In addition to her husband she is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to many floral offerings from friends there were wreaths from the Almonte Branch of the Canadian Legion and The Women's Auxiliary of the organization.

Thomas (son of John Reid and Catherine Haldane) was born on 17 Dec 1869 in Foss, Perth and Kinross, Scotland; died on 15 Nov 1955 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 17 Nov 1955 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
