William W. Blanton was born November 30, 1871 in Boone County, Indiana. He was the son of James Matthew Blanton and Mary Ragsdale. He was married to Helen Jane Barker on July 3, 1926 in Blaine, Washington. He was the father of Harold Blanton of Ketchikan, Alaska; Mrs. Martha Cournau of Tacoma; Mrs. Hazel Maier of Sacramento, California and Mrs. Gladys Jergensen of El Centro, California. He was the brother of Mrs. Myrtle Erickson of Fairmont, Minnesota; Mrs. Margaret McCord and Mrs. Pearl Sibley of Oakland, California; Mrs. Mabel Hurley of Seattle and Walter Blanton of Ketchikan. He also had seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He died on January 28, 1945 at Fort Steilacoom, Washington. Funeral arrangements were by the Home Undertaking Company.
