Suddenly, but peacefully at Pakenham, Ontario on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Alice Neilson. Loving father of Linda (Duane) Linklater and Barry (Beth) Melanson. Dear grandfather of Stacey (Mac), Jamie (Nate), Mitch and Matt and great-grandfather of Grace. Dear brother-in-law of Marion (Bert) Timmons, Lorne (Edith) Neilson. Predeceased by a brother-in-law Wilfred (Jean) Neilson. Friends may call at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Friday, January 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Pakenham on Saturday, January 31 at 11 a.m. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery in the spring.

Wilmer married Alice May Neilson on 15 Mar 1952. Alice (daughter of John Burns Neilson and Elsie Craig) was born in 1936; died on 16 Mar 2018 in Arnprior, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
