    Alan married Martha Evelyn Robertson in 1945. Martha (daughter of George Robertson and Margaret Nelson) was born in 1920; died on 3 Nov 2008 in Ottawa, Ottawa Municipality, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
