    Died:
    WINSLOW-SPRAGGE, Edward Harrington
    Lieut. (Ret'd) RCNVR
    September 25, 1915 - April 14, 2015
    in his 100th year.

Edward is remembered for his wisdom, guidance and "twinkle in his eye" sense of humour. He was loved by many and instilled in his family the values of loyalty and respect, honesty and fairness. He leaves us with a legacy of love and happy memories of a man who was hardworking, resourceful, artistic, musical, caring and always appreciative of the efforts of others.

Beloved husband of Isobelle for 69 years, dear father of Susan, Joanne (Paul Akehurst), and Deborah. Edward is also survived by his sister Mary Duclos, and his grandchildren: Michael Antonucci (Lindsay) and great- grandsons Owen and Dylan; Gina van Waard (Christian Veillette) and great-granddaughter Maisie; Marjorie van Waard; and dear members of our extended family. Pre-deceased by his parents Edward and Lois Winslow-Spragge and sisters Alice Simons, Ruth Cobbett and Anne Byers.

Edward was a veteran of WWII, serving on the North Atlantic from 1941-1945. Residing in Almonte since 1953, he was a businessman (Shell Oil, Winslow Fuels, The Crest Studio), and an active member of St. Paul's Anglican Church. Involved in supporting his Almonte community, he served on the Almonte Town Council, the Public Utilities Board and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 240). He was a faithful volunteer at Almonte General Hospital and piano player for celebrations at Fairview Manor and Country Haven care facilities. His pen and ink drawings and watercolour paintings hang in Almonte's public spaces and in private collections.

A private family funeral service will be held.

Edward married Isobelle Shirley Norman in 1946. Isobelle (daughter of Alden Norman and Stella) was born on 31 Jul 1918 in Glace Bay, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada; died on 11 Aug 2016 in Ontario, Canada; was buried in Aug 2016 in St. Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery, Almonte, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
