Saskatchewan Car Crash Claims Local Girl's Life. Thirteen year old Nancy Sadler, youngest daughter of a prominent Almonte couple, Carl and Shirley Sadler, lost her life in an automobile accident a few miles from Biggar, Saskatchewan, on Wednesday, August 27th, Along with her sister, Carol Ann, she was a passenger in a car driven by Mr. Joseph Leslie Nadal, of Toronto. The three were enroute to Mamonte, Saskatchewan to visit an uncle, Rev. Ray Sadler, when the car failed to negotiate a turn and struck a culvert. All of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle and Nancy died instantly of head injuries. Carol Ann sustained a concussion, severe bruises and lacerations to her face and is expected to be released from hospital in Biggar this week. Mr. Nadal was also treated for multiple bruises and abrasions. The two sisters were returning from a vacation to the west coast which began August 10th and decided to visit their uncle who had just moved to a parish in Mamonte two weeks ago. Nancy, who was to have started high school this week, was, like her sisters, an accomplished musician and was the organist at Almonte Baptist Church. She also enjoyed singing and in addition to being a member of the Almonte United Church choir, she had often appeared in the Lions Club's annual amateur talent show and various musical activities at Naismith Public School. The funeral was held from Kerry Funeral Home to Almonte United Church where a service was held on Saturday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Robert J. McCrea officiated. Interment was in Auld Kirk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, many donations were made in Nancy's memory to the Robert Tait McKenzie Memorial Fund. .
