    A resident of Winnipeg - since 1910. Mrs. Eliza Van Courtland Workman, widow of Prof. W. G. Workman, who died Monday, aged 88 years, at the residence ol ner daughter. Mrs. W. T. Craig, 899 Jessie ave., was burled today. The funeral took place at 2 p.m. from the Clark Leatherdalo funeral chapel to Elmwood cemetery. Mrs. Workman was born In 1848 In Ottawa, Ont. when that city was still known as "tfyetown. - She wss the daughter of John Forgie, a pioneer wholesale mer chant of the town. In 1872 she married the late Professor Workman, a musical Instructor In the Ottawa Normal school. Some 24 years ago, she came to Winnipeg to make her home with Mrs. Craig, and since then had been a faithful attendant at Augustine church. Mrs. Work - mans faculties remained - unimpaired until the end, and she often spoke of the, to her, familiar per sons and events of pre - Con federation days In eastern Canada. She la survived by three sons: H. C. Workman, of Ottawa; W. E. C. Workman, of London, Ont, and H. A. Workman, of Chesney, Ont.; and by one daughter, Mrs. Craig. There are 13 grandchildren and two great - grandchildren living.
