Final tribute was paid to the memory of Mrs. Mabel Gardiner at her funeral which took place on Friday , August 15, 1969, from the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, McArthur Ave., to St. John's Anglican Church, Innisville, where Rev. H. Horsey conducted the service at 2.30 p.m. Interment was In St. John's Cemetery, Innisville. Mrs. Gardiner, who had resided at Scotch Corners, passed away in General Hospital, Ottawa, on Thursday, August 14, following a short illness. She was 66 years of age. Born at North Gower, Ont., February 9, 1903, the former Mabel Mather, she was the daughter of the late Frank Mather and his wife, the late Elizabeth Phillips. She was educated at North Gower School and Ottawa Normal School. She attended St. John's Anglican Church, Innisville and was active In church work being president of the A.C.W. She was predeceased by her husband, the late George C. Gardiner in 1962. She is survived by one son, Thomas A. Gardiner, on the homestead at Scotch Corners; a daughter Lillian (Mrs. Lyle McNab) Chesterville, Ont., a brother, William Mather of Ottawa; a sister Ethel (Mrs. Byron Storey) of Kemptville and nine grandchildren. The pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were Albert Storey, Francis Gardiner, Kenneth Gardiner, Allan Gardiner, Howard Jackson, and Arnold Jackson.
