    The funeral of the late Walter Julian was held on Saturday afternoon from the family residence, Glass Street, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. He died on Thursday in his 72nd year. Mr Julian was born in Wales, a son of the late Mr and Mrs George Julian and came to Canada at the age of 13. Prior to his marriage some 45 years ago to Jessie Mae Miller of Pakenham, Mr Julian was employed with the Lanark County Roads Department and with the town of Almonte for several years. Left to mourn his loss beside his widow are seven sons and three daughters, namely: George, Albert, Archie, Eric and Bert, all of Almonte; Lloyd of Niagara Falls and Harold of Kingston; Edna (Mrs Rene McKinnon of Hull, Que); Mary (Mrs John Poynter) of Carleton Place and Betty of Almonte. There is also one brother, Thomas of Almonte, and one sister, Mrs Jack McGill of Almonte. Rev H.L. Morrison, minister of Trinity United Church conducted the funeral service. The pallbearers were John Poynter, Carleton Place; Gordon Miller, Almonte, Oliver Royce, White Lake; Ken Horton, Almonte; Rene McKinnon, Hull; Ross Smith, Carleton Place. Flower bearers: Jack Houston, Bob Houston, Andrew Baird, Bob Smithson, George Houston, Jack McGill.

    Walter married Jessie May Miller in 1906. Jessie was born in 1883 in Cedar Hill, Pakenham Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 16 Aug 1974 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     Harold E. Julian Paid Final Tribute
    Following a lengthy illness, Harold Ellis Julian passed away in an Ottawa Hospital on Thursday November 8th in his 41st year. Born in Almonte in 1916, He was a son of Mrs Walter Julian and the late Mr Julian. He was educated in the local schools and served in the Canadian Army from 1939 to 1945, part of which time was spent overseas. He lived in Carleton Place for 10 years and was married to Miss Lola Townend of this town. She predeceased him two years ago and since that time he lived with his brother in Almonte. Besides his mother, he leaves two sons, Terry in Carleton Place and Ray of Kingston and one grandson, six brothers, George, Albert, Lloyd, Bert, Archie and Eric, three sisters, Edna, Mary and Betty. The funeral which was largely attended was held from the family home, Glass street, to Almonte United Church for service on Sunday at 1.30 p.m. The minister, Rev J. Ray Anderson officiated at the service and also at the Auld Kirk Cemetery where interment was made. The pallbearers were: Messrs John Poynter, Rene McKinnon, Howard Julian, Len McKay, Herbert Townend Jr., and Gerald Townend. Among the beautiful floral tributed was a wreath from Almonte Branch of the Canadian Legion.
