    Death came to Mrs W.H. Black on Sunday morning and gently wafted her spirit to the other land. She had been ill of a few days from acute chronic kidney trouble, during the interval of consciousness suffering severe pain. deceased, whose maiden name was Annie McLaurin Greig, was the third daughter of Mrs Jas F. Greig, and had spent nearly her whole life in Almonte. She was married to Mr Black nearly fifteen years ago, and her husband and two children, Eric, aged six years and Marion, aged three years, survive her. Besides these are Mrs Black's mother, her four sisters, Miss Greig, Mrs McFarlane, Mrs Scott Ross, Pakenham and Miss Helen Greig and her brothers, Archie and James. The funeral service on Monday afternoon was a private one, but many citizens joined in the cortege thus giving expression to their respect and sympathy. Interment was made in the eighth line cemetery, Rev Orr Bennet conducted the services.

    Annie married William Hamilton Black in 1891. William (son of James Black and Janet Johnston) was born in 1857; died on 10 Feb 1944 in Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan Municipality, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
