Mrs. Irene Meacham Dies in Spain
Mrs. Irene Meacham 69, of 625 Washington, died Sunday of a heart attack in Madrid, Spain. She was touring abroad with two cousins from Ottawa, Ont. The body will be returned to Oak Park for burial.
She was the widow of Dr. William C. Meacham, physician for the Chicago Black Hawks and the Chicago Cardinals football team.
Born in Ottawa, Mrs. Meacham was the granddaughter of Henry Bate, one of the founders of Ottawa.
Survivors are a son, Thomas W., and two daughters, Mrs. Alan Smith and Mrs. Katherine Schreiber.
Cousins on the tour with Mrs. Meacham were Mrs. William Coristine and Mrs. Mabel Bradley.
