    DEATH'S HARVEST
    Mrs Edward Houston, sr.
    Just a week ago today Mrs Edward Houston, sr., was taken ill of pleurisy, and on Tuesday she passed away at the age of 48 years. Deceased whose maiden name was Mary Traill, was a daughter of the late W. Traill, and was born in the township of Darling. She was married to Mr Houston in Renfrew twenty-nine years ago, and to them four children were born, three sons and one daughter. The boys are William, Edward and James and the daughter, Jennie, is Mrs Wm Lockhart. With the exception of a couple of years spent in Renfrew Mr and Mrs Houston have always lived in Almonte. The funeral take place this (Thursday) afternoon from the family residence, New England, to the eighth line cemetery.

    Mary married Edward John Houston in 1878. Edward was born on 10 Feb 1856 in Almonte, Lanark County, Canada West; died on 25 Mar 1935 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     Mrs W.E. Lockhart
    Mrs Jean Lockhart of Carleton Place, a lifelong Ottawa Valley resident, died Wednesday, Dec 26, at the Lyons Nursing Home after a long illness. She was 72. Born in Renfrew and educated in Almonte, she was a daughter of the late Edward Houston and the former Mary Trail. She was a member of the United Church. She married William E. Lockhart in 1904 in Almonte. He died one year ago. She is survived by one son Gordon, of Belleville; one daughter, Mrs Arnold Illingworth, (Madeline) of Carleton Place and four grandchildren. For the past nine years Mrs Lockhart lived with her daughter and her son-in-law, Mr and Mrs Arnold Illingworth. The funeral was on Saturday at the Fleming funeral home at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev H. Giffin. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. ? C.P. Canadian.

    Obituaries
    Madeline Illingworth
    A longtime resident of the Carleton Place area, M. Madeline (Lockhart) Illingworth died at the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital on June 3, 1989. The daughter of the late William Lockhart and his wife Jean Houston, Madeline was born in Almonte. After completing her early education in Almonte, she pursued a career in nursing. Outside of work, she was a member of Zion Memorial United Church, Carleton Place. Madeline was married to Arnold Illingworth in Almonte on July 23, 1938. Aside from her husband, she is survived by four nieces and sister-in-law Edna Lockhart of Belleville. Predeceased by brother Gordon Edgar Lockhart. Rev W. McDowell officiated the funeral from the Kerry Funeral Home, Carleton Place, on June 5, 1989 at 11 a.m. Interment in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. Staff members of Kerry Funeral Home acted as pallbearers

    Mary married Arnold John Illingworth in 1938. Arnold was born on 29 Jul 1908 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 11 May 1997 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
