    Died:
Norman, beloved husband of Doris (nee Jones) passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Morley House Personal Care Home, Shoal Lake.

Norman was born at Kiwana, (near Kinosota Manitoba) on May 15, 1923, the son of Phillip and Susan (Cameron). Norman was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Paul and Eddie, his two sisters Laura and Florence, and his grandson Kevin Clark.

Norman's family moved to Boissevain where he was educated and worked on farms until he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery (Q.O.C.H. of C) in 1941. He just missed being sent to Hong Kong, went to Europe instead and was wounded in action in France. Returning to Canada in 1945, Norman worked with the Dring Brothers of Boissevain before joining Manitoba Hydro where he worked for 35 years, retiring in 1982.

Norman married Doris Jones on June 26, 1947 and they were blessed with three sons and a daughter. While working with Manitoba Hydro Norm served in several Manitoba communities: Boissevain, McCreary, Carberry, Hartney and Winnipeg. Norm retired to Kincardine Ontario and recently Norm and Doris returned to their prairie roots.

Dad joined the Boy Scouts in 1938 and throughout his life worked with youth. He was a cub master and a scout master turning out three Queen Scouts. Dad taught Sunday School, coached sports teams, and was actively involved in the community: Masons, Oddfellows; volunteer fire departments; municipal council; and the Legion.

Dad enjoyed time with his kids and his grandchildren. He loved camping; cards; all sports (Go Leafs Go), and traveling. He was a Mr. Fixit and tackled any project.

Left to cherish his memory are Doris his loving wife of 61 years; four children: Murray (Patricia) of Shoal Lake; Joanne Barry (Chris) of Shoal Lake; Dan (Ann) of Brampton Ontario; Terry (Donna) of Calgary; 9 grandchildren: Denise Benton (James) of Elva, MB; Kathy Purdy (Tim McWhirter) of Shoal Lake; Meghan Brydges (Matt) of London ON; Jon Barry (Kristy) of Edmonton; Shirley March (David) of Toronto; Greg of Brampton; Ashley of Toronto; Darryl of Edmonton; and Kevin (deceased); 8 great grandchildren; his sisters and brother in-law: Muriel Clark of Boissevain; Doreen Hazelwood of Langley; Ada and Clarence "Red" Jones of Napinka; and numerous nieces and nephews.
