Died:
Karl Albert Christian Bauer, age 93, of Monticello, died on Nov. 4, 2008. He resided at the U R Home in St. Michael.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at Life in Christ Lutheran Church, 5015 Main Avenue N.E., Albertville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Monticello. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, Monticello.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1914, in Faribault to Charles and Anna (Rover) Bauer. He married Harriet Eva Awe on Aug. 26, 1944. They moved to Monticello in 1946 and farmed 80 acres. He retired from Honeywell at age 62. The couple retired to Mission, Texas, in 1980. In 2000 they moved back to Monticello due to Harriet's failing health and resided at Mississippi Shores. They celebrated 56 years of marriage before his wife's death on Oct. 13, 2001.

He is survived by two daughters, Cheri Blanchard of Monticello and Arlinda Bauer of Monticello; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Karl married Harriet Eva Awe on 26 Aug 1944. Harriet (daughter of Emil Wilhelhem Awe and Amy Jane James) was born on 27 Apr 1921 in Greenwood, Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States; died on 13 Oct 2001 in Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota, United States; was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota, United States.
