Died:
Alice R. Clawson, 86, Topeka, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at a Topeka nursinghome.

She was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Lawrence, the daughter of Carl and Gladys Morgan Rerick. She was reared in Lawrence and attended the University of Kansas. She lived in Linwood for 40 years before she moved to Topeka about 20 years ago.

Mrs. Clawson was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a volunteer for Friendly Visitors at the church. She also raised and showed African Violets.

She married Arden Clawson on Feb. 25, 1934, in Lawrence. He died Dec. 20, 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Coffee, Manhattan; a son, Eldon Clawson, Wakarusa; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Clawson will lie in state after noon today at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 9 p.m.

Arden was born on 25 Dec 1901 in Grand River, Decatur County, Iowa, United States; died on 20 Dec 1981 in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, United States; was buried in West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, United States.
