Mr Donald Frederick (Don) Clapp, beloved husband of Elsie Penman, passed away suddenly at his home at R.R. 2 Carp on Monday, June 11th, in his thirty-fourth year. Born in Hasting County on September 21st, 1945, he was the son of the late Everett M. Clapp and Florence M. Hale. He received his early education in Trenton area schools and later moved of the Ottawa Valley. At the time of his death he was the Branch Manage of Collision Appraisal Services Ltd. in Ottawa. On May 9th, 1970, he married Elsie Penman. For the last six years Don and Elsie have resided at R.R. 2 Carp. He was a member of St Paul's United Church, Carp. Don will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Elsie. Also mourning his loss are his mother, Mrs Everett Clapp of Trenton; a brother, Edward of R.R. 4 Stirling and sisters Mrs Frank Paul (Eleanor) of Almonte and Beverley of Toronto. Funeral services were conducted at Almonte United Church, Thursday, June 14th, at 2 pm. with Rev Robert McCrea and Rev Frank Stiles officiating. Interment was in Auld Kirk Cemetery. The pallbearers were Keith Lowry, Doug Penman, Guy Savoie, William O'Brien Wayne S. Hillaire and Dave McEwen.
