In hospital, Ottawa, Ontario, on Tuesday, December 3rd, 1974, Marguerite (Peg) Leona Majaury, beloved wife of Frederick Oliver Somerton, dear mother of Lois (Mrs Everett White), Carleton Place, Stuart Hurdis, Lynden Somerton and Gene Somerton, all of Almonte, in her 56th year. Resting at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte, for service on Thursday, at 2 p.m. Cremation at Pinecrest Crematorium. Rev Robt McCrea officiating.

    The death occurred in the Ottawa Civic Hospital on December 3rd, 1974, of Marguerite (Peg) Leona Majaury, after an illness of four months. She was born in Almonte on March 10th, 1919, and was 55 years of age, a daughter of James Majaury and the late Mrs Majaury and a foster child of Mr and Mrs James Chalmers. She was the wife of Frederick O. Somerton, who survives; also surviving are her foster mother, Mrs James Chalmers, sons Stuart Hurdis and Lynden Gene Somerton, both of Almonte and a daughter, Mrs Everett White (Lois) of Carleton Place, a foster brother, James Chalmers, Hamilton; a brother, Jay Majaury, Arnprior; a sister, Mrs Irene Walters, Carleton Place and predeceased by a sister, Mrs Ines Yuill. Two foster sisters survive: Mrs Brian Hadlow (Jean), Sudbury, and Mrs W. Maitland (Marion), Ottawa. Peg, as she was familiarly known was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion and was a faithful worker for many years. She attended Almonte United Church. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte, on Thursday, December 5th, 1974, Rev Robert McCrae officiating. The pallbearers were Wilbert Somerton, John Chalmers, Robert Long, Jack Rennie, Jack Smithson and William Maitland.
