    Robert Earl Craig?/b?
    A former Almonte resident, Robert Earl Craig died at the Almonte General Hospital Oct 17, following a lengthy illness. He was 69. Born in Almonte April 7, 1919, he was the son of the late Ernest Craig and his wife Eleanor Lang, both of Almonte. He received his education in the Almonte area, and married the late Martha Matilda Munro on Feb 4, 1939. He had worked as a stationary engineer at the Public Hospital in Smiths Falls until ill health overtook him in 1969. He also served in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Canadian engineers, was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion in North Bay, Ont, and was a member of the Almonte United Church. He is survived by 11 children. They are sons, Allen and William of Arnprior, Arnold of Almonte, Howard of Pakenham, and Robert Jr. of Bancroft; and daughters Faye (Mrs Gerald Morrow) of Arnprior, Marilyn (Mrs David Reid) of St John Nfld., Beverly (Mrs Larry Guay) of Almonte, Donna (Mrs Charles Coe) and Susan (Mrs Bruce Barr) of Pakenham, and Gail of Ottawa. He was predeceased by a brother Arnold Holland Craig. Mr Craig is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. The funeral took place in the chapel of the C.R. Gamble Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct 20 at 2 p.m. Rev Clifford Evans of the Almonte United Church officiated. Pallbearers were grandchildren Frank Guay, Michael Morrow, Randal Reid, Ronald Coe, Mark Barr, and Christopher Craig. Interment was at the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

    Robert married Martha Matilda Munro on 4 Apr 1939 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Martha (daughter of Thomas Edward "Eddie" Munro and Lillian Elizabeth Hankin) was born on 27 Mar 1924 in Clayton Village, Ramsay Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 14 Oct 1984 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 16 Oct 1984 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     Peacefully in hospital at Arnprior with family at his side and following a courageous struggle with cancer on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Robert "Bob" Craig of Arnprior, age 65 years. Son of the late Robert E. Craig and his wife the late Martha (nee: Munro). Beloved brother of Allan (Peggy), Faye Morrow (Gerald), Marilyn Reid (late David), Bev. Guay (late Larry), Donna Coe (late Charlie), Gail Craig, Howard (Guedron), Arnold, (Margaret), Bill (Colleen) and Susan Barr (Bruce). Also survived by several nieces & Nephews. Friends may call at the C. R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL Inc. 127 Church Street, Almonte, Ont. (613) 256-3313 for visiting on Friday, March 7 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and where Service will be held in the Gamble Chapel on Saturday, March 8 at 11 AM. Spring interment with his parents, Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

    DEATHS
    CRAIG ? At the R.M. Hospital on Jan 20, 1950, Noreen Dianne Craig, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert E. Craig, aged two months. The funeral was held on Saturday, Jan 21, at 3 p.m. from the home of Mr Ernest Craig, Ottawa Street, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery
