Simpson, who was well known in the Ottawa district, passed away recently at his home in Smiths Falls, at the age of 89 years, following a short illness which was attributed to a fall. Deceased was born at Ashton, where he resided till 15 years aso, when he retired from farming and took up his residence in Smiths Falls. He was the last of a family of seven sons and five daughters. Surviving are three sons: Willoughby, of Edmonton: Robert of Chilliwark, B.C.; and Joshua of Smiths Falls; and four daughters: Mrs. Robert Shilllngton, Moose Jaw; Mrs. W. J, Bleeks, Winnipeg; and Misses Maude and Pearl Simpson, Smiths Falls. The funeral took place to Munster Union cemetery, the services being conducted by Revs. Ellis and Bradfoid. The pall bearers were Messrs Kidd, Clayton, Ormond and James Simpson, and Milton and Willard Graham. Many floral tributes testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held in the community.Funeral service conducted by the Revs. Ellis and Bradford.

Stricken with a heart attack while letting some cattle out to pasture on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 14, Robert M. Simpson of Atchelitz passed away shortly after he went indoors to rest. Born at Ashton, Ontario, 63 years ago, the late Mr. Simpson came to the Fraser Valley twenty - five years ago and had been a well known and respected citizen of the district since that time. Prior to coming here he resided in Winnipeg.
Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. F. Toop and Roberta Simpson, South Su - mas; Mrs. J. Hogg, Sumas; Mrs. George Bradwell, South Sumas, and Mrs. Harold Bradwell, Radium Hot Springs; and four sons, Cecil of Rosedale, and William, Joshua and Wesley of South Sumas.
Mrs.. Simpson was in the south at the time of her husband's passing, the funeral arrangements were held over till her arrival. The funeral took place Wednesday from chilliwack United Church, with interment in the Odd Fellows' cemetery.

?/b?Mrs. Lillian Bleek, 54, of 213 Ruby st., died In General hospital at 1.10 p.m. Monday, from injuries received when she was struck by an auto at the Intersection of Portage ave. and Lipton st, about 11 pm. Saturday.

An Inquest will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, in central police station with Dr. H. M. Speechly, provincial coroner, presiding.

Mrs. Bleeks was crossing Portage ave. when she apparently slipped and fell In the pathway of an auto driven by Thomas Keeler, of Newman ave. Taken to the hospital, it was found she had sustained a possible fracture of the skull, possible fracture of one or more ribs, cuts, bruises and shock. She died, without regaining consciousness.

Mrs. Bleeks, who was born at Ashton, Ont., is survived by her husband and two sons, Dr. Cherry Bleeks and Claude Bleeks, both of Winnipeg. She also is survived by three sisters and three brothers: Misses Pearl and Maude Simpson. of Ottawa; Mrs. H. Shelington, of Grayburn. Sask.; Robert Simpson, New Westminster. B.C.: Wllloughby Simpson, Edmonton, Alt.; and J. Simpson, Ottawa.

The body lies at the A. B Gardiner funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.

Pearl Edith fJF Menholm Rd., Chilliwack, passed away April 14, 1988 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 92. Born Sept. 29, 1895 at Winnipeg, Man., she lived in the Chilliwack area for 80 years. toop She was a housewife at home. She was a member of Sumas United Church and superintendent of its Sunday School. She produced many Christmas concerts. She enjoyed entertaining many groups with her comic recitations. With the Ruth Rebekah Lodge 7, she was a Past Noble Grand and financial secretary as well as a life member. For many years, she was a member of the Willing Workers Group of the Chilliwack United Church.
Funeral service was held April 18 from the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home with Rev. Reg Brown officiating. Interment was at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Robert Edwards, Ronald Edwards, Harley Edwards, Bruce Morrison, John Anderson, and David Brooks.

Born in Chilliwack to parents Fred and Pearl (Simpson) Toop, granddaughter of Chilliwack pioneers Sampson and Emma Toop, died peacefully at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission.

Evelyn was married to Roy Edwards on June 23, 1936 and together they raised five children.

Evelyn will be missed by sister Edna and brother Edgar, sons Robert, Ronald (Carolyn), Harley (Dawn) and daughters Myrna and Sharie (Arnie). Grandchildren Lorelei, Melanie (John), Stephen (Tracey), Tamara (Greg), Marlo (Steve), Jaida (Darrell), Niki (Darcy), Loni (Robin) and Erin (Randy), 15 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families, plus many friends. The Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Blue Jays have lost an avid fan.

Pre deceased by husband Roy, brother Earl, sister Ethel and granddaughter Denise.

Evelyn lived in Chilliwack until 2007, when she moved to Hallmark on the Lake in Abbotsford.

She was second to none as a Mom and touched many lives in a positive way in her 101 years. She will be sorely missed by all of her family and all of her friends new and old.

Memorial service will be held October 8, 2016 at 2pm

?/b?Mom left us on Tuesday, October 20, at the age of 83. She was born in New Westminster, but her parents, E. James Hogg and Emily (Simpson) Hogg, raised their family on the Sumas Prairie. It was at Chilliwack High that Margaret met Eldon and they married in 1948, the same year that she graduated from the St. Paul's Hospital nursing program. During their 49 years of marriage, they lived in Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey. Margaret was widowed in 1997, and spent the last years of her lite in Maple Ridge with a view of the mountains, She will be forever missed by her children, Sandra (Margaret) and Brent (Petra) and by her grandchildren, Tonya and Joel. She did not want a service, so please celebrate her life in your own way, remembering her wonderful sense of humour and generous heart. Special thanks to the nurses at McKenney Creek Hospice and the staff at Willow Manor. It is with great sadness that her family announces the passing of Roberta "Noreen" Cumming (n?e Simpson) at the age of 80 years old. Despite a hard fought three week battle, our Mom passed away on July 5, 2019 while in the ICU unit of Royal Inland Hospital.

She is lovingly survived by her husband of 63 years Robert, her children Lyn Gannon (Kevin), Donna Thibault (Marc), Doug Cumming (Kelly), Lorne Cumming (Lynette), ten grandchildren and their spouses and two great-grandchildren. Mom was busy knitting blankets and sweaters while anxiously awaiting the arrival of two more great-grandchildren later this summer. She was so looking forward to meeting these two new additions to our family. Noreen is also survived by her sisters Jocelyn Cahill, Pat McAbee and Judy Karr who were all able to visit her in ICU for one more gathering of the Simpson sisters. She was predeceased by her parents Joshua and Margaret Simpson, her infant son Bruce and her sister Joan; all whom she missed dearly.

Noreen worked throughout the years in the banking industry but was primarily a homemaker and full-time Mom. Her sunday morning routine of the "Church of Elvis Presley" on the stereo, while making us pancakes is something we will all remember forever as well as her never ending supply of friendship muffins. She and Robert enjoyed some far away travelling times but their favourite was just going for a drive. They spent many, many hours covering many, many miles of local backroads, always with the music playing; Dad whistling and Mom singing.

We invite people to help us honour our Mom's memory at a Celebration Gathering on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Cottonwood Centre in Kamloops.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ICU unit of the Royal Inland Hospital. Dr. Campsall and the nurses of the ICU took such good care of Mom. We can never thank them enough.
