    The death of Leonard H. Cathcart, aged 74, of Perdue, Sask., occurred in a Saskatoon hospital on October 6 1982. The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 9 at 2 p.m. from the Perdue Legion Hall, conducted by Rev. Malcolm Spencer. McKague?s Funeral Home was in charge. Ushers were Allan Cathcart and Charlie Hand. Honourary pallbearers were Frank Weir, Jack Blampied, Russ Featherston, Ed Featherston, Alex Postnikoff and King Pratt. Active pallbearers were nephews Wallace Hand, Harold Hand, Irwin Hand, Gordon Hand, Morris Featherstone and Murray Featherstone. Interment was made in the Leney Cemetery.
    Surviving are: his wife Marjorie; three sons, Wayne Cathcart and his wife Betty of Calgary, Ron Cathcart and his wife Mary of Perdue, and Lloyd Cathcart of Perdue.; five grandchildren; one sister Irene (Mrs. Percy) Hand, of Perdue; one brother Ivan Cathcart and his wife Florence of Perdue. Mr Cathcart was born in Goulbourn, Carleton County, Ont. He came West to Perdue in 1917 with his parents and had resided in the district until his passing. The family would appreciate donations to the Leney Cemetery Association.

    Leonard married Marjorie Ellen Hand in 1940. Marjorie (daughter of James Nesbitt Hand and Mamie Etta Boucher) was born on 16 Sep 1918 in Perdue, Battleford Census Division, Saskatchewan, Canada; died on 30 Jan 2014 in Saskatoon, Saskatoon Census Division, Saskatchewan, Canada; was buried in 2014 in Leney Cemetery, Leney, Battleford Census Division, Saskatchewan, Canada.
