    Lola McCOY - Lola Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on December 13, 2008, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Orville McCoy. Loving mother of Allan (Carol), Rhonda (Don) Healey, Leonard (Darlene), the late Frederick and the late Linda. Lola will be sadly missed by her 2 sisters, 1 brother, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. as well as on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Stittsville United Church, 6255 Fernbank Road, Stittsville on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. Special thanks to the staff at Granite Ridge and the Queensway Carleton Hospital for all the care provided to Lola. For those who wish, donations to the Stittsville United Church would be appreciated.

    Died:
    Frederick (Freddie) McCoy, aged 4 years, 11 months, died following a lengthy illness at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Wednesday, July 21st. Older son of Mr. And Mrs. Orville McCoy, of Stittsville, Freddie had been in hospital for several months. His brave and cheerful disposition and pleasant smile made him a very special friend of all who knew him. In addition to his parents he is survived by one brother, Allen, and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCoy of Stittsville and Mr. William Baird of Carp, also several uncles and aunts and little cousins. The funeral, which was very largely attended, was held to Stittsville United Church on Tuesday afternoon and was conducted by the Rev. T. P. Shaver, of Alcove, Que., who preached a very comforting sermon. Five little boys sang "Safe in the arms of Jesus." The pallbearers were Ivan Seabrook, Bert Kenny, R. J. Baird and Milton Armstrong. The floral offerings were numerous and besides a pillow from Daddy, Mamma and Allen, included pieces from the following: Grandma and Grandpa McCoy; Grandpa Baird and family; Alfred, May and Jean; Harold, Lois and family; Mable, Clifford, Evelyn and Bert; Jennie, Ellard and family; Ruby Sherriffe, Weldon and Dale; Augusta and Milton Armstrong; Billie and Dougie Kenney; Stan Logan; Mavis Hartin; Mr. and Mrs. William McCoy; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Pretty; Donald Moore; Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bell; Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Hartin, Mrs. LaSalle, Mrs. Healey, Mrs. Garvie and Mrs. Smith; Lornie Sparks; Mr. and Mrs. J. Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Foley; Mrs. T. Hueston.

    Linda Margaret, five months old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville McCoy, of Stittsville, died on Monday at the home of her parents. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon from Kennedy's Funeral Home here to Stittsville United Church and cemetery.
