    ?b?Simpson ?/b?- At a local hospital, on Wednesday morning, March 6, 1940. Alfred Simpson, beloved husband of the late Prudence Munce. Funeral will take place from the residence of his brother, Thos. F. Simpson, 10 Miguelstreet, Carleton Place, on Friday 8th. inst., at 1:45 p.m. to Zion United Church for service at 2 o'clock. Thence to the St. James Vault.

    The death occured yesterday in an Ottawa hospital, of Alfred Simpson, a resident of Carleton Place for 38 years. He had been in ill health for three weeks.
    He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Simpson and was born in Goulbourn Township, where he spent his youth. He was married in Ashton Presbyterian Church to Miss Prudence Munce, who predeceased him by several years.
    Coming to Carleton Place, Mr. Simpson was emplyed in a sawmill. For 30 years he was employed in the hardware business of w. J. Muirhead. For four years he was on the staff of the Public Utilities Commission and retired in 1936
    He was a devout member of Zion United Church and a member of St. John's Lodge A.F. and A.M
    Surviving are four sisters, Mrs William Switzer. of Stittsville; Mrs. William Smith, of Ashton; Mrs. Fred Scott, of Smiths Falls; and Mrs. Alfred Smith, of Ottawa; three brothers, Thomas and Nelson Simpson, of Carleton Place andHarvey Simpson, of Beckwith
    The funeral will be held from the home of his brother, thomas Simpson, Miguel street, on friday afternoon to the Church for service, Rev. R. Vatcher will officiate. Intement will be in Pine Grove cemetery.?b?
