Born in Fitzroy Township and a resident of Gracefield, Que., for the past 24 years, Mrs Hanna Draper, wife of Jesse Draper, died in hospital Thursday following a lengthy illness. She was in her 92nd year. The former Hanna Farmer, daughter of the late John Farmer and his wife Anne Garland, she was educated in Fitzroy Township, Carleton County, . Married twice, her first husband, Samuel Baird, died 30 years ago. About 24 years ago she married Jesse Draper and took up residence at Gracefield. Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Robert B. Baird , of Redlands, Cal.; Allan Baird, of Westboro; three daughters, Mrs. R. O. Bowes, of Ottawa; Mrs. C. A. Crozier, of Renfrew; Mrs. Lorne Craig, of Westboro; a number of grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Three sons, James, Samuel and John Baird predeceased her. The body is resting at the home of her step-son, Lester Draper, from where the funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. to McBean Cemetery for internment.

Stroke of Paralysis Was Fatal to Old Settler.

Mrs. Minnie Elizabeth Rarick died this morning about 7 o'clock at the home of her son, Carl Rarick, 515 Ohio street. Mrs. Rarick was stricken with paralysis yesterday at her home on south Kentucky street and was taken to the home of her son yesterday afternoon.
Mrs. Rarick was born in Ohio in 1844. She had lived in Lawrence and Douglas county ever since the Civil War. She is survived by one son, Carl, and one daughter, Mrs. Edith H. Johnson of Tacoma, Washington.
The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon from the son's home. Rev. H. E. Wolfe will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in Oak hill cemetery.

I have been unable to locate a death record for him. I believe he is buried in Green Mountain next to his wife.

The Green Mountain cemetery has no record of his burial there.

ohn B. Baird - Fallbrook, May 8 - (Special) - following an illness of nearly 11 months John B. Baird died at the Great War Memorial Hospital, Perth, in his 89th year. Born near Kinburn, February 7, 1869, Mr. Baird was the son of the late John Baird and his wife the former Jane Bradley of Fitzroy. He was the last member of the family of seven. On July 25, 1894 he was married to the late Ida E. Groves who predeceased him August 14, 1935. Mr. Baird was an honorary member of the Loyal Orange Lodge District No. 5 Fitzroy and visiting members conducted an impressive service the evening before the funeral. Surviving are three daughters (Evelyn), Mrs. Andrew Craig, Pakenham; () Mrs. Roy Needham, Pakenham; (Irene) Mrs. Charles Ennis, Fallbrook and one son, John G. Baird, Ottawa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral which was largely attended was held at the Kennedy Funeral Home, Carp, with Buried: in Diamond Cemetery, 9th line Fitzroy. Rev. W. H. Henley of Pakenham United Church, conducted the service. Mrs. Lloyd Craig, granddaughter-in-law of Mr. Baird sang "The Old Rugged Cross".

George Allan Baird - A resident of Ottawa since 1928, George Allan Baird, of 350 Roosevelt avenue, died in hospital Tuesday in his 66th year. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Baird, Mr. Baird was born and educated at Kinburn, Ont. In 1916 he married the former Annie Camelon, of Westboro. Mr. Baird farmed at Woodlawn, later moving to Ottawa where for 13 years he was employed as a carpenter for the Department of Highways. For the past 11 years he had been employed as a carpenter at the 26th Ordnance Depot. Mr. Baird was a member of Westminster United Church and of the Loyal Orange Lodge, Kinburn. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Kathleen) Tierney, of Ottawa, and three grandchildren. Relatives, friends and neighbours paid final tribute to the memory of Mrs. Margaret Matilda Toop at her funeral which took place on Wednesday, August 7, 1969, from the Fleming Bros. Funeral Home, Lake Ave. west, where Pastor Russell Spangler conducted the service at 2 p.m. Interment was in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte, Ont. Mrs. Toop passed away at the Stonehaven Nursing Home on Monday, August 5th, at the age of 76 years. Born in Ramsay Township, April 29, 1893, the former Margaret Matilda Doucett, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Doucett and his wife, the late Martha Irwin. She was educated at McCreary's School and attended the Almonte Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was married in Carleton Place to the late Charles Gordon Toop, who predeceased her some years ago. She is survived by seven sons, Arthur, Fred and Aylmer of Carleton Place; Ewen, Ottawa; Harry, Arnprior; William, Pembroke, and Albert, Clinton, Ont.; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. L. Gimbel) of Brunswick, Maine and Maybeth (Mrs. L. Goyne) Olympia, Wash.; a brother George Doucett of Carleton Place and a sister, Mrs. Annie Wiggins, Oshawa, Ont. The pallbearers were Messrs. Norman Paul, Alan Thompson, George Hilliard, Allan Doucett, Murray McRae and Stanley Brunton.
