    The funeral of Frederick Fumerton was held Tuesday afternoon from the Alan R Barker Funeral Home, McArthur avenue, where Rev Dr Louis Shein conducted the service. Interment was made in Auld Kirk cemetery. Mr Fumerton died in Almonte hospital last Saturday. He was in his 64th year and had been ill since December. He boarded for the last seven years with Miss Ethel Samole on Princess street. Born at Appleton he was the son of the late David Fumerton and his wife, Christena Aitken. He was employed years ago with James Edwards in the grocery store and later at woollen mills here. Survivors include two sisters, one at White Lake and one in United States.

    Fredrick married Annie Leila Fumerton in 1909. Annie (daughter of Robert William "Big Bob" Fumerton and Mary McLaren) was born on 6 May 1890 in Ramsay Township, Lanark County, Canada West; died on 3 Nov 1968 in Ottawa, Ottawa Municipality, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 5 Nov 1968 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     - Serious Accident
    Mr Earl Fumerton of Carleton Place is in the R.M. Hospital suffering from severe burns. His car took fire in the Hotel Almonte yard at two o'clock Monday morning. Mr Peter Ferguson also of Carleton Place, who was with him was in the act of pouring water into the dry carburetor when it burst into flames. As the car was a closed sedan it was with great difficulty that he got Mr Fummerton out of the car, who was most severely burned. He was rushed to the R.M. Hospital where everything was done to relieve him. The car was a complete wreck.

    Earl Fumerton, the Carleton Place lad who was severely burned in an auto accident in Almonte about ten days ago died in the R.M. Hospital this Thursday morning. He succumbed to lockjaw.

    Of the sad death of Earle Fumerton, the Carleton Place boy who succumbed to burns sustained in a motor accident at Almonte, the Carleton Place Canadian says: "The young man was born in Appleton, but when a very small boy came to reside in town with his parents where he has spent practically all his life. Besides his father and mother, two sisters Muriel and Lenna, with one brother Ross survive. The remains were brought home on Thursday morning and the funeral which was largely attended, took place from his father's home to the Auld Kirk cemetery. The service was conducted by the Rev A. Rayburn Gibson who took as his text John 14th chapter and 2nd Cor., 17th and 18th verses. The pallbearers were all companions, namely John Ball, Lloyd Edwards, Charlie Hale, Howard Little, Bryan Drader and Theodore Nesbitt. Many beautiful floral tributes adorned the casket among them being: Wreaths, The Family, Pals; Sprays, Miss Viola Johnson, "Classmates" Alfred Connors, Lorne Garvin, Gordon Drummond, Dan Mather, Murray Dunlop, Gordon Cable, Charlie Hale, Clarence Edwards, Earl Connors, Beresford Hawkins; Pillows, P.S.     Peacefully at National Defence Medical Centre on Saturday, April 22, 1995. in her 85th year. Muriel Isabel Hjalmarson (nee Fumerton), beloved mother of John, sister of Ross Fumerton and grandmother of Kristjan (Kris). Aunt of Carol Fumerton, Jan McDougall and Bobby Fleltham. She is predeceased by her sister Lorna and her brother Earl.     FUMERTON, Robert Ross

    Ross passed away peacefully, while watching the hockey game on TV at Orchard View Living Centre, on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in his 90th year. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Earl, and sisters Lorna and Muriel. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.), Ottawa on Thursday, June 5 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at 4:30 p.m.
