    Following an illness of six months Miss Agnes Jane Forgie, esteemed resident of Almonte for 50 years, passed away at her home on Church Street, on Tuesday afternoon, March 19. Miss Forgie was born in 1868 on the 11th line of Ramsay, a daughter of the late Gilbert Forgie and his wife Jane Dunfield. She enjoyed a particularly wide acquaintance in the town having served as librarian of the Public Library for the past 15 years up to the time when she relinquished the post on account of ill health. She was a devoted member of The Presbyterian Church. Surviving are one brother Mr James Gilbert Forgie of Renfrew; one sister, Mrs Peter E. Young, Sault Ste Marie and her niece, Miss Margaret Cavers at home. The funeral was held this afternoon (Thursday) at 1 p.m. Rev A.J. Fowlie of the Presbyterian Church, officiated. The body was placed in the Auld Kirk Vault to await interment in the Auld Kirk Cemetery in the spring. A profusion of beautiful flowers bore testimony to the esteem in which Miss Forgie was held. Among them were pieces from the Almonte Library Board. The Alexandra Club. The Lawn Bowling club and the W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church. The pallbearers were R.A. Jamieson, J.D. McCallum, Harry Houston, Duncan Forgie, Ross Barr, and Robert Templeman.
