    (Medical):On Saturday morning she was in her usual good health; in the afternoon she complained of not feeling well, and a doctor was called. On Sunday he diagnosed the trouble as appendicitis, and Mrs Paul was brought to the R.M. hospital, and on Monday on operation was performed. The case proved to be a serious one, and not much hope of recovery was held out by the doctors, though up to Wednesday she was bearing the strain hopefully, but suddenly Nature's forces gave out, and early this Thursday morning she passed quietly away.

    Died:
    Death came with shocking suddenness to Mrs Wm Paul, and bereft the home over which she had presided for nineteen years as the wife and mother of her loving ministrations. On Saturday morning she was in her usual good health; in the afternoon she complained of not feeling well, and a doctor was called. On Sunday he diagnosed the trouble as appendicitis, and Mrs Paul was brought to th R.M. hospital, and on Monday an operation was performed. The case proved to be a serious one, and not much hope of recovery was held out by the doctors, though up to Wednesday she was bearing the strain hopefully, but suddenly natures forces gave out, and early this Thursday morning she passed quietly away. The late Mrs Paul was Christina Porterfield, a daughter 0t the late John Porterfield of Ramsay, and was married to Mr Paul, and the balance of her life was spent within a short distance of her father's home. Beside Mr Paul, three children are left to mourn the loss that has fallen upon them. These are Olive, aged 18 years; Melville, 16 years, and Edna, 10 years. Mrs Paul was a member of St John's church, and her life was one of consonance with the profession she was made. the funeral will take place on Saturday at 2 o'clock from her husband's residence, 7th line Ramsay, to the eighth line cemetery.

    Olive Naismith
    Olive May Naismith, a Ramsay township native, died Feb 11, 1985 at Almonte General Hospital in her 91st year. Born and educated in Ramsay township, she was the daughter of William Paul and Christina Porterfield. She married Albert Naismith in 1919 and spent the remainder of her life on the family farm on the Ninth line of Ramsay township. Predeceased by her husband Albert and daughter Catherine, Mrs Naismith is survived by her sister Edna Rose of Almonte, sons Robert and William, Almonte and daughters Elsie May (Mrs William Toop), Ottawa and Betty (Mrs Lloyd Endersby) of Willowdale. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral was conducted from the Kerry Funeral Home by Rev Jack Lougheed of Almonte United Church. Mrs Naismith was a member of the church. Pallbearers were Garry Thom, Ian McBain, David Naismith, Harry Deugo, Richard Endersby and Bruce Rivington.

    One of Almonte's hightly respected citizens, William Melville Paul passed away in hospital May 10, 1971, after a short illness.

    He was born November 3rd, 1895, the son of the late William Paul, and his wife, the late Christina Porterfield. He was married in December 1919 to Eva Jane Drummond, who predeceased him in March 1947.

    Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs Louis Parent), St Jean, Quebec; Doris (Mrs Harvey Cochran), Willowdale; two sons, William D (Bill), Ottawa and R Clare of Port Credit; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Also surviving are two sisters, Olive (Mrs Albert Naismith), of Ramsay, and Edna (Mrs Ed Rose) of Almonte.

    The service was conducted from the Kerry Funeral Home by Rev Robert McCrea of Almonte United Church, May 13 at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

    The pallbearers were William Toop, Jack Virgin, James Paul, Robert Naismith, Mervin Giles and Donald Cochran.

    Catherine Ann Naismith
    Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Naismith, Ninth Line of Ramsay, were deeply shocked to learn of the death, Tuesday morning of their nineteen months-old daughter, Catherine Ann after a two weeks' illness of pneumonia. Surviving, in addition to the parents, are two sisters and two brothers, Elsie, Betty, Robert and William. The funeral was held this afternoon from the family home to the Auld Kirk Cemetery vault, Rev. C. D. McLellan of Bethany United Church, conducting the services.

    After a long and well-lived life, Doris passed away in her 101st year, (May 1922 ? January 2023). Doris was the loving wife and best friend of John Harvey (deceased February 2002); much loved mother of Nancy (Bob Korogyi), and Wendy (Jim Curran); devoted grandmother of Kristina (Denny Drosos); Loving G.G. of Jamie (Drosos). Doris was predeceased by her siblings Dorothy Nickerson, Clare Paul and Bill Paul and is survived by sisters-in-law Mary Lou (Clare) and Ella (Bill). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Throughout her life, Mom's priority was family. We always knew that she loved us dearly. She will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever and will live on through us.

    We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the Staff of Fairview Manor for their kindness and care of Mom and their compassion for our family.

    A private graveside service will be held in the Auld Kirk Cemetery at a later date.

    PAUL, William (Bill) Drummond (Former employee of the Ayrshire Breeders Association of Canada and the N.C.C.) - In hospital, Ottawa on Friday, March 15th, 1991. In his 66th year. William (Bill) Drummond Paul. Dearly loved husband of Ella Astles. Dear son of the late William Melville Paul and his wife the late Eva Jane Drummond. Dear brother of Dorothy (Mrs Robert Nickerson), Ottawa; Doris (Mrs Harvey Cochran), R.R. 2, Almonte and Robert Clare Paul, Mississauga, Ontario. Also survived by three brothers-in-law Bud Astles, Guelph; Ray Astles, New Carlisle, Gaspe and Don Astles, Brampton. At the request of the deceased a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte.
