Friends may call at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Kerry Chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Guthrie United Cemetery, Clayton, Ontario in the spring.     Passed away peacefully in Almonte on March 1st at the age of 86.

    Many cherished years spent trucking and back-hoeing in Almonte and surrounding area.

    Beloved husband of Joyce for 58 years. Elmer was the youngest of 6 to Ernest and Jean. Predeceased by brothers Boyd, Melvin, Eric, Carl and sister Edna. He will be greatly missed by daughters Norma (Martin) Richards, Lorna (Shawn) McElroy, Eleanor (Rod) McLean, Doreen. Proud grandfather to Daryll (Jenessa), Deanna (Duncan), Tina, Mitchell (Brianna), Jodi, Emily (Gareth), Mikayla and Chloe (and their Dad Bob). Great-grandfather to Laska, Eden, Haylyn, Willow, Ivy, Raine, Rogan and Ash. He will be fondly remembered by many friends.

    Funeral will be held at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home & Chapel, 19 McArthur Ave., Carleton Place with visitation Sunday, March 5th from 1 - 3 pm and Monday, March 6th from 11 am -12 noon with service to follow at 12 noon . Refreshments to follow the service. A graveside ceremony will be held in the spring.

    Special thanks to Dr. Ray and all of the support staff at Almonte General Hospital.

    The death of Keith Melvin Foster of 80 Linwood Street, St. Catharines, occurred on Saturday, September 6th, 1975, at his residence. He was in his 31st year. Born in Almonte on September 18th, 1944, he was the son of Melvin Foster and Olive Bolger of Almonte, who survive him. Keith was educated locally at S.S.#9 and at Almonte High School. He worked at General Motors in St. Catharines and attended the United Church there as well. He is survived by his parents; by sisters Marion, (Mrs. Peter Ireland) of Queenston; Shirley, (Mrs. Robert Yach) of Munster; and by brother Glen at home. Also surviving are nephews Christopher and Terry Ireland and one niece Julie Yach. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home on Thursday, September 11th at 2 o'clock with interment in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Rev. Robt. J. McCrea officiating. Pallbearers were Raymond Clement, Michael Gleeson, Brian McGregor, Jimmy Foster, Earl Foster and Brian Bolger.
